Overview

Position Summary:


The Cybersecurity Operations Specialist will deliver service and operational assistance to all offerings and capabilities of the ACS Information Security Office.

This role will engage in project-related tasks as needed.


This position will be integral to the security incident response framework and the threat detection systems that oversee the operational environment.

The Cybersecurity Operations Specialist is tasked with the examination and documentation of security incidents, involvement in litigation hold procedures, ensuring that security events are accurately recorded, resolved, and tracked within ITSM tools.


This role will support all Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) initiatives, participating in compliance audits and evaluations of both systems and processes that regulate the operations of Allegis IS and the personnel involved in these systems.


Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  • Manage incidents and requests from the security ticketing system
  • Address security escalations, identify and mitigate critical security events that require in-depth investigation and resolution.
  • Collaborate with the Information Security, Legal, and Compliance teams to develop procedures, technical documentation, and fulfill project tasks as necessary.
  • Create and present reports that consolidate incident data
  • Review procurement agreements, questionnaires, contracts, and statements of work to ensure adherence to company security standards and requirements
  • Provide guidance and support to Legal and executive requests for data collection and analysis
  • Document and communicate assessment and incident findings to the Security Operations Manager and Information Security Officer
  • Work alongside IS management, the corporate Legal department, safety and security, and law enforcement to manage risks and security vulnerabilities
  • Collaborate with other IS teams to implement Information Systems policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines
  • Conduct compliance monitoring, auditing, and improvement activities to ensure alignment with internal corporate policies and applicable laws and regulations
  • Represent the Information Security function in Change Management, Incident Management, Patch Management, and Problem Management processes
  • Actively engage in the IT security community to remain informed of current standards and best practices.
  • Maintain a recognized information security certification
  • Prepare reports that document general metrics
  • Assist in the onboarding of new Information Security personnel and contractors
  • Availability to work outside regular hours to address security alerts and modifications to Information Security technologies.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Essential Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience
  • Preferred candidates will possess one or more of the following certifications:
o NET+, SEC+, SANS GIAC (GISF, GSEC or others),
Experience with Agile methodology is a plus (ACP)

Skills/Competencies:

  • Data Loss Prevention technologies
  • Security Operations Centers
  • Encase Litigation/Hold process solutions.
  • Rapid7/NeXPOSE security scanning and management tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft O365, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, .NET, Active Directory, ADFS, Windows/Linux, SQL Server, Azure AD, VMware/Citrix,
  • Incident and Problem management system support
  • Basic understanding of Network, host, data, integration, and application access security across multiple operating system environments (Windows, Solaris, Linux, etc.)
  • Fundamental knowledge of Information Security technologies including encryption, IPsec, PKI, VPNs, firewalls, proxy services, DNS, electronic mail, and access-lists
  • Basic understanding of Internet, web, application, and network security techniques
  • Experience in successfully implementing new business processes and technologies
  • Basic understanding of network scanning and intrusion detection products
Basic understanding of Data Loss Prevention and threat detection systems Basic understanding of Federal/International regulations related to information security (FISMA, Computer Security Act, Safe Harbor, HIPAA, etc.)
