The Maintenance Engineer will be an adept problem solver, working within a fast-paced and collaborative environment. This role is essential for executing mechanical engineering services that align with our operational goals, providing support to production, maintenance, and engineering teams. The position plays a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency, output, and quality of our processes, focusing on the integration and upgrades of mechanical systems within manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in diagnosing equipment issues and developing repair strategies during root cause analysis.
  • Establish maintenance operating standards and protocols to guide maintenance practices.
  • Offer technical guidance to plant personnel on troubleshooting, repairs, and assessing equipment performance against service conditions.
  • Assist in the development of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) strategies to enhance site safety and reliability.
  • Ensure that work requests incorporate engineering insights on repair specifics and provide technical support for critical equipment.
  • Document repair techniques and training for equipment maintenance.
  • Contribute to the creation and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and project planning.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to optimize spare parts lists and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for existing machinery.
  • Engage in the development of the maintenance budget to support strategic initiatives.
  • Provide engineering insights for work packages to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Analyze equipment reliability and performance data to inform purchasing and vendor evaluations.
  • Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess maintenance spending and overall effectiveness.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of equipment failures on maintenance budgets and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Oversee all phases of mechanical engineering projects, from concept through to project closure.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification with relevant experience.
  • Experience with high/low pressure hydraulic systems and extrusion presses is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in an industrial setting.
  • Proven experience in leading and executing engineering projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with reliability tools commonly used in the industry.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with all levels of personnel.
