The Night Cook is a key member of our culinary team at Thomas Cuisine, responsible for preparing high-quality food orders for employees and contractors. This role requires a strong background in cooking and food preparation, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Prepare food orders for employees and contractors in a timely and efficient manner
  • Perform short-order cooking using established culinary techniques
  • Maintain par stocks, order supplies, and rotate products to ensure maximum quality and minimize waste
  • Ensure all food-handling and preparation activities meet external and internal safety and sanitation standards
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen staff to prepare menu items
  • Follow Sous Chef's instructions and maintain a positive, respectful attitude
  • Practice correct food handling and storage procedures according to company and state regulations
  • Comply with all nutrition, sanitation, and safety regulations and standards
  • Report any unsafe working conditions, operational needs, or equipment issues to management

**Requirements:**

  • 2+ years of cooking or restaurant experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift up to 100 pounds
  • Knowledge of workplace safety policies and ability to read and understand MSDS sheets and labels on chemicals
  • ServSafe certification preferred
