**Job Summary**
The Night Cook is a key member of our culinary team at Thomas Cuisine, responsible for preparing high-quality food orders for employees and contractors. This role requires a strong background in cooking and food preparation, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Prepare food orders for employees and contractors in a timely and efficient manner
- Perform short-order cooking using established culinary techniques
- Maintain par stocks, order supplies, and rotate products to ensure maximum quality and minimize waste
- Ensure all food-handling and preparation activities meet external and internal safety and sanitation standards
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen staff to prepare menu items
- Follow Sous Chef's instructions and maintain a positive, respectful attitude
- Practice correct food handling and storage procedures according to company and state regulations
- Comply with all nutrition, sanitation, and safety regulations and standards
- Report any unsafe working conditions, operational needs, or equipment issues to management
**Requirements:**
- 2+ years of cooking or restaurant experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift up to 100 pounds
- Knowledge of workplace safety policies and ability to read and understand MSDS sheets and labels on chemicals
- ServSafe certification preferred
