ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
As a State Dog Warden, your core responsibilities will include:
- Enforcing the Pennsylvania Dog Law and the Rabies Law (Act 181), along with other pertinent regulations.
- Conducting inspections to verify dog licensing as required by law.
- Addressing public complaints regarding dogs running at large and investigating dog bite incidents.
- Implementing quarantines to protect public health when necessary.
- Investigating claims of damages caused by dogs to livestock or poultry and preparing reports for compensation purposes.
- Examining suspected illegal activities concerning the transportation or euthanization of dogs.
- Monitoring out-of-state dog dealers and researching unlicensed kennels.
- Responding to complaints about illegal operations and inhumane conditions in kennels, ensuring each case is thoroughly investigated and documented.

WORK SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Full-time employment.
- Standard work hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, including a 30-minute lunch break.
- This position is headquartered in Butler County.
- Salary: The starting salary may be non-negotiable in certain cases.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Experience and Training:
- Two years of experience in dog law enforcement, animal control, animal welfare, or related fields; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Possession of a valid motor vehicle license is mandatory.
- Ability to perform essential job functions is necessary.
