Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Bilingual Registered Nurse to join our Home Health Care team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Bilingual RN, you will provide direct nursing care to patients and families outside the hospital setting, coordinating home healthcare activities and ensuring adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient's physical, psychological, social, and environmental status
  • Develop patient care plan tailored to needs assessment
  • Provide nursing care and coordinates ancillary services to achieve treatment plan goals
  • Administers medications and performs treatments for assigned patients, in accordance with medical and nursing protocols
  • Report pertinent observations and reaction regarding changes in patient status to the appropriate team person
  • Provide follow-up to ensure problem resolution; record observations and patient care activities
  • Evaluate patient's response to approval plan of treatment; modify treatment plan, as necessary
  • Interpret agency philosophy and policies to patients, families, and other groups; utilize agency and community resources to the benefit of the client
  • Establish and maintain good rapport and effective working relationships with patients, visitors, physicians, and Hospitals employees
  • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings, and workshops

Requirements:

  • Essential: Program Graduate, Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate, RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM, CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
  • Nonessential: Bachelor's Degree, Nursing Education specialization

Working Conditions:

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
