Maag, a Dover Corporation company, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our team. As a Mechanical Assembly Technician, you will play a critical role in assembling and testing our high-quality equipment, ensuring that it meets the highest standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble dryer rotors and housings with precision and accuracy.
  • Balance rotors on all size dryers to ensure optimal performance.
  • Build and mount dryer component parts, including agglomerate catchers and pellet diverter valves.
  • Perform leak tests on dryer and tank housings to ensure integrity.
  • Engrave equipment name plates with attention to detail.
  • Fills out check sheets while assembling equipment to ensure quality control.
  • Put together piping assemblies with precision and accuracy.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management to support the production team.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • Mechanical background and a general understanding of tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and efficient in approaching tasks.
  • Independent self-starter with ability to problem solve and anticipate and avoid issues.
  • Strong team player, work ethic, and commitment to win.
  • Customer-focused.
  • Ability to work OT and weekends when required.
Work Environment:

Work in this position is mainly at the Eagle Rock assembly floor, but the incumbent could be asked to assemble at the Roanoke facility when needed. While performing the duties of this job in a factory setting, the employee may be moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud, and PPE may be required.

Physical Requirements:
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
  • The employee must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee will be required to have fork lift training and regularly use lifts and ladders to assemble on structures off of the ground five feet or higher.
