Job Summary

The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a part-time Ophthalmologist to join our team at the Memphis VA Medical Center. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, providing high-quality care to our nation's veterans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outpatient services, including admission, work-up, diagnosis, consultation, and prescribing medications to treat ophthalmology patients.
  • Perform operative and non-operative care for ophthalmology patients in various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient care units, and operating suites.
  • Participate in academic activities, including supervising residents and providing consultative services for the Surgery Department.
Highlights of the Position
  • Experience-based salary range: $280,000-$ Negotiable)
  • Work schedule: Monday-Friday, 8AM-4:30PM
  • Annual performance bonus and regular salary increases
  • Possible $1000 per year CME reimbursement (must be board certified)
  • Malpractice liability protection with tail coverage
Requirements
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Ophthalmology
  • Full and unrestricted license from any US state or territory
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Proficient in written and spoken English language
  • US Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens
