Position Overview:
- Part-Time, Regular, Hourly, Non-Exempt schedule with up to 25 hours per week
- Availability required on weekdays, some weekends, and occasional evenings and holidays
- Compensation: $16.00 per hour
Role Summary:
As a Celebration Coordinator, you will ensure that all birthday celebrations at the Zoo are not only enjoyable but also safe and memorable experiences for all participants. Your objective is to enhance visitor satisfaction and effectively coordinate supporting services.
Main Responsibilities:
- Arrive on time and fully prepared for your scheduled shift
- Maintain a professional demeanor that positively represents the Zoo
- Collaborate with various Zoo departments and external vendors to ensure event success
- Ensure compliance with policies, participant satisfaction, and prompt resolution of any issues
- Actively promote the Zoo as a venue for diverse events
- Thoroughly complete pre-event tasks according to a specified checklist
Additional Duties:
- Prepare and operate electric carts in accordance with Zoo policies
- Inspect and set up birthday event locations as necessary
- Escort deliveries and service providers to and from event sites
- Ensure timely cleanup following events and report any issues
- Handle emergencies professionally and adhere to Zoo protocols
- Engage with guests to provide information, identify needs, and deliver outstanding customer service
Key Requirements:
- Minimum age of 16 years
- Experience in customer service, childcare, or event planning is advantageous
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage stress, follow directions, and effectively manage time
- Attention to detail, teamwork, and professionalism are essential
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Ability to navigate the facility, climb stairs, and stand/walk for extended periods
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions (mild climate)
- Occasional lifting of objects up to 50 lbs.
- Flexible schedule with weekend and evening shifts
- Work in a shared office environment with potential interruptions
