Position Title: Senior Coatings Specialist

Department: Operations

Reports To: Paint Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Aqueous Vets, LLC is on the lookout for skilled and dedicated candidates to join our expanding team.

As a vertically integrated organization, we specialize in the manufacturing of pressure vessels and advanced water treatment systems designed to remediate contaminated groundwater affected by various emerging pollutants. Our operations encompass design, engineering, manufacturing, installation, startup services, and civil construction.

This full-time position will report directly to the Paint Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe working environment with a strong emphasis on safety protocols.
  • Follow the production timeline and collaborate with the Paint Supervisor to ensure timely delivery.
  • Lead and mentor team members.
  • Oversee demand forecasting and assess all material needs.
  • Work with the Purchasing department to guarantee material availability.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for coating, lining, plating, or other outsourced operations.
  • Assist in materials management and inventory control as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in industrial manufacturing painting, particularly with pressure vessels, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Plasite 4110 and similar coatings is highly desirable.
  • Experience in media blasting and knowledge of surface profiling.
  • Exposure to ASME code pressure vessel fabrication is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, manufacturer specifications, and instructions related to paint products.
  • Experience operating plural paint systems is strongly preferred.
  • NACE Level I / II or CIP Level I certification is strongly preferred.

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and stand for an 8-hour shift. Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision and depth perception.

Technical Skills:

  • Safety-focused with a commitment to daily safety practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of industrial painting and coatings, including materials, formulations, mixing conditions, and application techniques.
  • Proficient in using standard painting equipment such as pumps, spray guns, rollers, agitators, and related testing tools.

Additional Skills and Attributes:

  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate activities within the paint department.
  • Capable of leading and developing fellow associates in a supervisory capacity.
  • Able to step in and support the Paint Supervisor's responsibilities as needed.
