Job Title: Laying House Worker (Cage House Caretaker)

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laying House Worker (Cage House Caretaker) to join our team at Tyson Foods Inc.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for attending to and caring for hens, inspecting eggs for quality and fitness for incubation, and performing various duties to maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Feed, water, and weigh birds according to schedules
  • Clean and disinfect waterers, change and clean nest pads, dust nests, and maintain the egg room in a clean state
  • Perform simple math to record information such as egg numbers, bird weight, medications, feed intake, and mortality
  • Observe, grade, and record egg quality and distribute or dispose according to Cobb standard
  • Inspect poultry for diseases and remove weak, ill, and dead poultry from the flock
  • Collect eggs from individual hens and record hen number on each egg
Requirements:
  • Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.)
  • Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines
  • Must be able to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a biosecure environment, which requires showering, changing clothing, and footwear before entering the facility. The job site may involve working on wet, slippery surfaces and in hot, dry, dusty, wet, icy, snowy, and cold environments.
