Job Description

We're hiring a Dynamic Design Strategist to join our team at our Birch Lane retail store. As a key member of our design team, you'll play a vital role in delivering an authentic, friendly customer experience that exemplifies our Wayfair commitment to relentless customer focus.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide expert interior design and sales guidance to our customers, leveraging your knowledge of design principles, spatial planning, and fabric selection to help them navigate their design needs and purchases.
  2. Manage virtual and in-store design appointments, including the preparation of design deliverables, product curation, and follow-up to ensure seamless customer experiences.
  3. Utilize sales analytics and design software tools to drive store profitability and growth, while showcasing your expertise in fabric & finishes, highlighting performance, texture, and durability characteristics, as well as market trends.
  4. Efficiently manage your time in design appointments and sales floor interactions, prioritizing the customer experience while maintaining open communication with leadership.
  5. Meet or exceed sales and customer satisfaction targets, and other established KPIs.
  6. Participate in operational store activities as needed, including bringing new products to the floor, floor sets, replenishment, and substitutions.
  7. Bring innovative ideas and solutions to continuously improve team operations and contribute to a high-energy, focused, and dynamic work environment.
Requirements
  1. 2+ years of sales experience, preferably in a design-related environment, with some experience working with high-price-point products.
  2. Experience in design, such as interior, architectural, or graphic design, with a clear understanding of design principles.
  3. Possession of a passion for design, excellent customer service skills, and a drive to exceed sales targets.
  4. Strong organization, self-motivation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  5. Technical acumen to learn necessary software, with proficiency in Google Suites and/or Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  6. Experience leveraging CRMs/POS/design software, such as AutoCAD, Sketchup, Revit, etc.
  7. Demonstrated ability to work within a team sales environment and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  8. Bachelor's degree or college diploma equivalent preferred.
  9. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
