Crate Assembler

We are seeking a skilled Crate Assembler to join our team at Janus International Group. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assembling and packing wood crates to ship orders of metal overhead steel doors and door components.

• Verify Dimensions: Verify dimensions needed for shipping crates using shipping reports.
• Operate Woodworking Machines: Set up, operate, and adjust a variety of woodworking machines such as skill saws and radial arm saws to cut and shape wood sections according to specifications.
• Assemble and Pack: Fit, fasten, and assemble wood parts together to form crate using air-powered nail gun. Pack crate with metal parts for steel doors listed to be shipped to customer from shipping report.
• Pack with Insulation: Pack crate with insulation to ensure steel parts do not move inside crate during shipping.
• Label and Clean: Fasten address/shipping label to crate. Use air-powered hand tools such as drills and screw guns. Keep work area clean and neat.

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: One to two years previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience.
• Skills: Basic reading, writing, and math, including reading a tape measure, skills required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Forklift experience preferred. Experience operating radial arm saws.

• Lifting: Must regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Standing and Walking: Regularly required to walk, stand, and bend.
