Job Summary

At Janus International Group, we are seeking a skilled Crate Assembler - Woodworking Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling and packing wood crates to ship orders of metal overhead steel doors and door components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify dimensions needed for shipping crates using shipping reports.
  • Operate and adjust various woodworking machines, such as skill saws and radial arm saws, to cut and shape wood sections according to specifications.
  • Assemble wood parts together to form crates using air-powered nail guns.
  • Pack crates with metal parts for steel doors listed to be shipped to customers from shipping reports.
  • Pack crates with insulation to ensure steel parts do not move inside crates during shipping.
  • Fasten address/shipping labels to crates.
  • Use air-powered hand tools, such as drills and screw guns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One to two years of previous work-related skills, knowledge, or experience.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills, including reading a tape measure, are required.
  • Forklift experience is preferred.
  • Experience operating radial arm saws is required.

Physical Demands
  • Must regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly required to walk, stand, and bend.
