Job Summary:

This role performs a variety of laboratory procedures, including specimen processing, testing, and result reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory operations and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs routine and complex laboratory procedures, including specimen processing and testing.
• Operates and maintains laboratory instrumentation and equipment, performing minor repairs as needed.
• Assures quality control procedures are followed and results are accurately reported.
• Utilizes the Laboratory Information System to manage patient data and results.
• Provides notification and documentation of critical laboratory values.
• Participates in the development and implementation of new testing procedures and protocols.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) from a recognized organization.
• One year of approved clinical laboratory experience, including a clinical rotation through various laboratory sections.

Work Schedule:

This is a per diem position, working as needed.
