Phlebotomy Specialist

Job Summary:
As a Phlebotomist-Lab AdminGeneral-PRN at CHRISTUS Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services. Your primary responsibility will be to collect and process patient specimens, maintaining the highest standards of quality and integrity.

• Collaborate with the team lead to procure supplies and ensure the efficient operation of the department.
• Perform all duties of a phlebotomist, including specimen collection, receiving, and send-outs.
• Prepare specimens for referral to outside labs, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, interacting effectively with patients, families, nurses, physicians, and colleagues.
• Operate the laboratory computer system to document specimen information and perform other assigned tasks.
• Complete associate performance evaluations and annual competency assessments in a timely manner.

Requirements:
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Completion of a Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory, or Medical Assistant program that includes phlebotomy preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, computer data entry, and organizational skills.
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Certification from a National Accredited Program preferred.
