About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Mobile team at Capital One. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining our mobile applications, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test mobile applications using React Native, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers, UX/UI, Quality Engineers, and Product Owners/Analysts to deliver innovative solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, contributing to ensure that all team commitments are delivered on time and of the highest quality.
  • Act as an advocate for the mobile platform, engaging with internal and external developer communities to promote best practices and share knowledge.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in mobile development, applying this knowledge to improve our software solutions.
  • Mentor junior to mid-level members of the team, helping them grow and develop their skills.
  • Engage with developers across various disciplines, including Android, iOS, APIs, Web, and more, to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Lead the delivery of major components and platform needs, working closely with senior engineers and architects to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Identify technical obstacles early, working with the team to find creative solutions and improve processes.
  • Review pull requests, ensuring adherence to engineering best practices and promoting a culture of quality and excellence.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on mobile development.
  • At least 2 years of experience building iOS applications using Swift.
  • Strong understanding of React Native and its ecosystem.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in mobile development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience building iOS applications using Swift.
  • 1+ years of experience with open-source frameworks.
  • 1+ years of experience with Agile practices.
