Key Responsibilities:
Ensure sufficient milk supply meets customer demands and assess suitable milk loads for each client.

Develop and organize weekly master schedules that align member and customer requirements with planned load efficiency and profitability.

Collaborate with the management team to secure additional milk supplies during shortages and identify alternative applications for surplus milk.

Keep members, clients, contract haulers, field personnel, and management informed of significant changes.

Reconcile daily pickups and receipts with clients, haulers, and members.

Negotiate transportation rates, determine travel routes, and calculate distances for both internal and external haulers.

Coordinate the scheduling of pickups and deliveries of bulk liquid dairy products, tracking rates and distances for billing purposes.

Investigate and resolve issues or challenges promptly.

Establish and maintain relationships with customers at the plant level, becoming familiar with their operations to ensure optimal service delivery.

Keep the management team updated on transportation challenges, including rejected loads, and assist in resolving these issues.

Foster a proactive safety culture among the company and contract haulers by adhering to safety protocols, regulations, and company policies.

Represent the organization positively and professionally during interactions with producers, clients, and regulatory personnel.

Commit to safety, ensuring every employee leaves work in the same condition as they arrived.


Adhere to all good manufacturing practices (GMP) and operate in accordance with corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation standards.

Demonstrate the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through integrity, discretion, and sound judgment.

Comply with all quality, safety, and GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformities.


Participate in mandatory training, including but not limited to Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), Safe Quality Food (SQF), Department of Transportation (DOT), and Pasteurized Milk Ordinance (PMO).

Be available to respond to emergencies or unexpected operational needs (including nights, weekends, or holidays).

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) with 5 years of experience in logistics, dispatching, or a related field

OR

Bachelor's degree in business or a related discipline with 1 year of experience in logistics, dispatching, or a related field.

Preferred experience with SAP.

Certifications and Licenses:

May be required to obtain and maintain additional certifications and/or licenses in the future.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Familiarity with company computer systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Understanding of regulatory requirements, rules, and regulations (DOT, GMP, PMO, USDA, OSHA, and HACCP).

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Capacity to maintain composure during setbacks and frustrations with a consistent demeanor.

Adept at adapting to and managing change effectively.

Responsible for actions and decisions.

Ability to make independent decisions.

Skilled in working with and influencing others.

Effective collaboration and teamwork abilities.
