Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive cost studies to provide detailed information regarding the costs associated with business activities, such as raw material purchases, inventory management, labor costs, and overhead expenses.
  • Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing processes, rate schedules, or services provided to determine their impact on overall costs.
  • Compare factors affecting the pricing and profitability of products or services, identifying areas for improvement and cost optimization.
  • Identify unfavorable and favorable purchase prices and material variances, ensuring accurate cost accounting records.
  • Verify standard costs and forecast annual and life-of-program variance impacts, providing insights to management for informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the sales department to filter pricing proposals, ensuring alignment with margin performance goals and profitability targets.
  • Analyze low-margin performing products (PNs), identifying cost drivers and implementing strategies to improve profitability through mix analysis and lower of cost or market analysis.
  • Forecast future monthly and quarterly margins (Material/Operating Profit/Earnings Before Interest and Taxes - EBIT), providing accurate financial projections.
  • Maintain the cost database by adding new parts, utilizing routers and bills of materials (BOMs) provided by engineering.
  • Target low-margin PNs with specific areas of cost identified for reduction, implementing cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
  • Support the pipeline group by providing comprehensive cost/benefit analyses, assisting in decision-making regarding new projects and opportunities.
  • Annualize variances and develop corrective action plans to address any deviations from established targets.
