Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at the University of Miami Hospital. As a key member of our Nuclear Medicine Imaging Services department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to nuclear medicine procedures, including supervising and performing procedures under the direction of a radiologist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient identification and obtain necessary consents
  • Supervise and perform nuclear medicine procedures, including radiopharmaceutical administration and imaging
  • Notify appropriate personnel of any changes in patient status
  • Maintain proper sterile techniques and aseptic procedures
  • Assist radiologists with procedures and provide necessary supplies
  • Question patients about medications, medical history, and previous imaging procedures
  • Follow divisional policies on performing scans on pregnant women
  • Verify proper radiopharmaceuticals and record activity amounts
  • Utilize aseptic technique for radiopharmaceutical administration
  • Select optimum instruments and collimate to obtain desired views
  • Perform related duties as assigned
Additional Duties
  • Manage daily workflow of the Nuclear Medicine department
  • Perform administrative duties, including ACR requests and physicist communications
  • Review daily financials for Radiology
  • Make weekly schedules for Radiology
  • Cover manager duties when necessary
  • Participate in JC rounding
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine Technology accredited program
  • NMTCB or ARRT-N registered
  • Valid State of Florida License as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • Valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer or Basic X-Ray Machine Operator
  • CPR and BLS certification
  • One year of relevant experience
