About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead our team of wireless networking engineers. As a key member of our Connectivity team, you will be responsible for developing wireless and wired networking features to delight eero's consumer and business customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop a high-performance team of engineers
  • Identify, champion, and deliver the highest impact engineering investments for your team
  • Partner with the Product team to define and refine new requirements
  • Collaborate with engineers, managers, and stakeholders on project execution
  • Guide the definition of technical solutions to meet product requirements
  • Manage and motivate team members through personal and professional challenges
  • Communicate project status to a wide range of audiences
  • Estimate delivery dates with confidence intervals based on team velocity and work
About the Team

We are a small and dynamic organization, offering a fair amount of control over how you pursue your and your team's goals. You will be constantly cooperating with other teams within the Connectivity org and with peers in the cloud, data, mobile, product, support, and sales teams.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 8+ years of engineering experience
  • 3+ years of experience managing development teams
  • Deep understanding of embedded networking, especially in Linux environments
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
  • Ability to prioritize short and long-term priorities
  • Ability to handle competing priorities
  • Ability to guide team work based on previous experience or educated assessment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and senior leadership
  • Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing teams of Software Engineers
  • Experience designing, implementing, and shipping new products
  • Experience with C, Python, and Golang programming languages
  • Experience with cloud-managed WiFi
  • Experience with small-business and enterprise networking
  • Familiarity with wireless protocols
