Job Overview

Are you skilled in mechanics or welding? If you are seeking a full-time position that allows you to apply your talents creatively, this opportunity may be for you.

We are expanding our operations at Fermentation Experts and are looking for an Industrial Millwright/Mechanic. This role involves conducting both preventative and emergency repairs on grain drying machinery, along with basic maintenance and repairs on forklifts and skid steers.

This position is ideal for machine operators with a mechanical or welding background who are ready to transition into a maintenance-focused role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on grain drying and processing machinery.
  • Implement modifications to existing equipment to enhance processes and safety.
  • Collaborate with the production team to identify improvement opportunities and execute enhancements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workshop, including tools and parts inventory.
  • Utilize basic computer skills for communication and research, and operate maintenance-related software.
  • Operate or learn to operate forklifts, skid steers, and telehandlers.
  • Engage in fabrication tasks such as cutting, grinding, and welding steel, with proficiency in reading a tape measure and calculating angles.
  • Understand and practice the safe use of hand and power tools.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Read and write in English; bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to manage confined space entry, bend, crouch, climb ladders, and lift/move up to 50 pounds. Adaptability to outdoor work conditions is essential, including exposure to varying weather elements and high noise levels.

This role requires comfort with elevated work, including heights of over 100 feet, while using appropriate fall protection equipment.

Prior experience in grain production and transportation is preferred but not mandatory.

Job Type

Full-time position with benefits including health insurance, paid time off, and vision insurance.

Schedule

Standard 8-hour shifts, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as needed.
