Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing direct resident care to an assigned group of residents during a shift. The LPN Supervisor will prioritize the delivery of direct nursing care using time and resources efficiently, integrating a standard-based framework model. The ideal candidate will have the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, as well as deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
  • Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
  • Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
  • Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
Requirements
  • Licensure as LPN or LVN, and two (2) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification.
  • Ability to function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License, and a current Defensive Driving Certification from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions

The LPN Supervisor will work in office area(s) as well as throughout the nursing service area, and will be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc. The ideal candidate must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the facility.
