Role Overview

The 988 Crisis Communication Specialist will utilize digital platforms to deliver crisis intervention, emotional support, and essential resources to individuals seeking help. This position emphasizes quality assurance and offers the option for on-site work if desired.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide crisis counseling through digital communication channels.
  • Conduct risk assessments, develop safety plans, and perform de-escalation techniques with clients.
  • Act as a mandated reporter in cases of suspected abuse or neglect.
  • Maintain familiarity with community resources and provide appropriate referrals.
  • Document interactions accurately and in real-time.
  • Achieve an average of 1.5 client interactions per hour.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development as required.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new team members.
  • Engage in community outreach initiatives related to mental health awareness.
  • Attend regular meetings to discuss program developments and strategies.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Access to high-speed internet and a quiet workspace is essential.
  • Demonstrated empathy and adaptability in various situations.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Reliability in adhering to scheduled shifts.
  • Completion of annual training as mandated by the organization.
