Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Surgical Scheduler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling hospital outpatient-based services, changing and canceling appointments, and performing other administrative duties as assigned. This role requires strong communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work well in stressful situations.
Key Responsibilities
* Schedule appointments for hospital outpatient-based services
* Change and cancel appointments as needed
* Perform other administrative duties as assigned
* Interface with patients and clinical staff to communicate scheduling needs and results
* Provide accurate and detailed information to patients regarding test results and reschedule procedures as needed
* Take appropriate action in responding to patient inquiries
* Answer incoming calls and direct them to the correct party
* Maintain the integrity of pre-registration, including accurate healthcare coverage
* Escalate operational, provider, or patient complaints to leadership
Requirements
* 2-3 years of experience in a medical or office setting
* Medical Assistant Certificate preferred
* Outstanding organizational skills and typing ability (35-45 WPM)
* Medical transcription required
* High School Diploma or Equivalent required
