Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in the Operating Room, specializing in cardiac and thoracic transplant procedures. This role is essential in ensuring the safety and efficiency of surgical operations while providing high-quality care to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

The Surgical Technologist will:

  • Prepare the Operating Room prior to surgical procedures.
  • Assist the surgical team during operations, ensuring all instruments and supplies are available and functioning.
  • Maintain a sterile environment and promote patient safety throughout the surgical process.
  • Care for patients during surgery, addressing their needs and ensuring comfort.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in caring for patients across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics.

Minimum Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Experience: A minimum of two years of scrub experience in a surgical setting, with a strong background in cardiac, thoracic, and transplant surgeries. Experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma center is preferred.
  • Licensure: Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Education: Completion of a surgical technologist program or equivalent experience in the surgical technologist role.
  • References: Two professional references from recent supervisors or managers within the last two years.

Additional Information:

This position may require floating to different units based on staffing needs, including working with pediatric patients. The Surgical Technologist will be expected to adapt to various environments and responsibilities as required.

Work Schedule:

This role involves evening shifts, typically 36 hours per week, with a rotation that includes weekends.

Contract Duration:

The initial contract length is set for 13 weeks.
