Wound Care Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse - RN with a wound focus to join our team as a Wound Care Coordinator - RN. As a key member of our nursing center team, you will lead and integrate a fully developed Skin Health and Wound management program, overseeing durable medical equipment related to the prevention and management of wounds.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and integrate a fully developed Skin Health and Wound management program in collaboration with nursing center management.
- Oversee durable medical equipment related to the prevention and management of wounds.
- Develop and implement wound care protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive wound care services.
- Conduct wound assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Provide education and training to nursing center staff on wound care best practices.
- Monitor and evaluate wound care outcomes and make recommendations for improvement.
- Must possess a RN license (MPT/DPT with leadership review/approval).
- Must complete Skin Health Team Lead orientation training and Wound Basics within 90 days of hire.
- Commitment to attend monthly support calls is required.
- Must have national accredited wound certification (CWS, CWCN, WCC, CWON, WOC, AWCC) or be committed to complete Advanced Wound Training and national accredited Wound Certification within 1 year of hire.
- Knowledge and experience with clinical charting, incident reporting, and investigation response is required.
- Must have a strong knowledge base of acceptable standards of care for nurses, providers, therapists, dietitians, and others on the nursing center team.
- Experience in team building and demonstrating respect for the interprofessional team in wound management is required.
- Knowledge of nursing home regulations and survey process is required.
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, Database Management, PowerPoint skills are required.
- Competitive hourly rate of $44.00.
- Full-time position with a Monday-Friday dayshift schedule (occasional evening/weekend hours may be required).
