Job Title: Occupational Therapist Assistant

Three Rivers Home Health Services is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients in their homes.

Job Summary:

The Occupational Therapist Assistant will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to provide occupational therapy to patients in their homes. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing and aiding patients in evidence-based treatment, observing and recording patient responses, and reporting to the supervising Occupational Therapist and other healthcare team members.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide occupational therapy to patients in their homes, under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
  • Instruct and aid patients in evidence-based treatment, within the scope of the Occupational Therapy Assistant and according to state laws.
  • Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment and changes in patient condition to the supervising Occupational Therapist and other healthcare team members.
  • Coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team as appropriate.
  • Instruct patients, family, caregivers, and other healthcare team members in areas of therapy within the scope of the Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Visit patients within the entire service area of Three Rivers Home Health Services and other nearby agencies as needed.
  • Complete progress notes for each visit and submit them according to Three Rivers Home Health Services policy.
  • Adhere to Three Rivers Home Health Services Therapy Standards of Practice in provision of service to all patients.
  • Participate in staff conferences and committees as requested by the agency.
  • Schedule flexibility is needed in this role to ensure we provide care to patients as needed.
Requirements:
  • Current OTA licensure in the state of employment.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
Additional State Requirements:
  • AL: Must have two (2) years experience practicing as an Occupational Therapist.
  • CT: Must be certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • IN: Must be certified by a national therapy association.
  • LA: Must have a minimum of two (2) years experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist.
  • NY: Must be certified and registered with the state of New York.
  • SC: Must be certified and in good standing with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
  • AR, AZ, CA, CO, DE, FL, GA, ID, IL, KY, MA, MD, MI, MS, MN, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NM, NV, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, TN, TX, VA, WA, WV, WI: No additional state-specific requirements.
