About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Economist to join our team at ICF International Inc. As a Senior Economist, you will play a key role in supporting the growth of our Regulatory, Policy, and Economics practice, with a focus on natural resources and environmental policy and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day project activities, applying subject matter expertise and thought leadership to analyze the effects and costs and benefits of policies and regulations affecting various areas, including health, labor markets, environment, natural resources, immigration, transportation, and others.
  • Oversee delivery of services to meet client needs for timely, high-quality analyses and program support.
  • Develop business by making substantive contributions to sales and proposals efforts on key client accounts and identified leads, engaging in capture, bid, and proposal processes, and assisting with developing compelling technical solutions for client audiences.
  • Grow the team by mentoring and coaching junior staff, monitoring workload, providing guidance, ensuring quality work products, and high levels of employee engagement.
Requirements
  • PhD in public policy, economics, or a related discipline, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including demonstrated expertise in economic and regulatory analyses in one or more domestic US policy areas, such as the environment, natural resources management, health, and safety.
  • Experience working on programs or projects related to environment, natural resources management, health, and safety.
  • Strong technical project management and financial project management acumen, as well as excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success delivering policy solutions to clients in a professional services/consulting setting or within a federal agency setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the federal government rulemaking process and experience using R (preferred) or other structured programming language for data analysis.

We are flexible on location, as you will be joining a team distributed across the Washington DC Metro area, Cambridge, MA, and other locations. Travel to client sites, ICF offices, and conferences may be required depending on project and client needs.

We offer a competitive salary range of $87,607.00 - $148,932.00, depending on relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education, and certifications.
