**Job Summary**
XL Construction is seeking a highly skilled Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a comprehensive safety program that ensures a safe working environment for all employees and subcontractors.
**Responsibilities**
* Assist the Director of Safety and Risk Management in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries
* Conduct daily construction jobsite inspections to identify and correct unsafe conditions and work practices
* Oversee the implementation of safety programs at the project level, including attendance at weekly site safety meetings and pre-task planning meetings with subcontractors
* Stay up-to-date on best practices and industry training in areas such as hazardous material remediation, confined space work, fall protection, and electrical safety
* Provide guidance and support to project teams to ensure safe and quality construction services are delivered to clients
* Participate in accident investigations to determine causal factors and implement corrective actions
* Prepare statistical information to measure project safety performance
**Requirements**
* Associate Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or equivalent combination of experience
* Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP)
* Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in construction at the foreman level or above
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* 3-5 years of direct experience in construction safety
