The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's safety programs and policies. This role ensures a safe working environment for all employees by conducting risk assessments, training staff, and maintaining compliance with all safety regulations.

The Safety Manager works closely with all departments to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Safety Program Development:
  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct regular reviews and updates of safety policies to ensure they remain current and effective.
Risk Assessment and Management:
  • Identify potential hazards and conduct risk assessments to determine appropriate safety measures.

Training and Education:

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in a safety management role or similar position.
  • Experience in developing and implementing safety programs.
  • Certifications:
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST), or similar are preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to conduct thorough investigations and prepare detailed reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Communications and Leadership:

  • Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
  • Ability to read and understand various app interfaces and documents.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and assist drivers with app issues and questions with paperwork.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities to address unexpected challenges or issues that may arise during training.
  • Remain calm and composed under pressure and take proactive measures to resolve issues effectively.
  • Work with other departments to stay up to date on company timelines, projects, and policies.

Compliance:

  • Abide by all company policies.
  • Exercise caution and vigilance to avoid accidents and damages to company property.
  • Maintain confidentiality with employee documents and private employee information.

General Skills and Qualifications:

  • Be able to handle the mental stresses involved in interacting with various personalities and attitudes on a daily basis.
  • Be open to feedback and coaching from supervisors and management to improve performance and service quality.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to changes in company policies and procedures.

  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance as needed.

Technology:

  • Proficiently operate the Uber driver app, navigation systems, Tesla interface, Workramp, ADP, scale fusion, e-sign softwares, operating systems, and other apps used by Tower Mobility.
  • Be familiar with Google Drive, Docs, and Spreadsheets, Forms, or other equivalent softwares.
  • Stay updated on technological advancements and utilize relevant tools and resources effectively.
  • Be able to quickly learn new apps/softwares/dashboards adopted and used in the company.
  • Abide by the company's cyber security policies.

Work Schedule:

Safety Managers are required to have flexible schedule availability to ensure safety needs are met. Schedules may be adjusted anytime to meet the needs of the operations, but the management will work with you to find a balanced and predictable schedule when possible.

Communication Channels:

The following are the official communication channels at Tower Mobility:

  • Emails; a email will be assigned to you.
  • Dialpad; for calling
  • WhatsApp/Microsoft Teams; for internal text messaging.

Texting with drivers is discouraged unless there is an emergency. All official communication must happen in the channels mentioned above.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Personal phone use reimbursement of $40 will be issued monthly for using personal phones for job-related tasks.
  • Health Insurance: To support your healthcare needs, we offer reimbursements for health insurance premiums. This benefit aims to ease the financial burden of healthcare expenses. Medical, dental, and vision benefits are provided through Thatch's ICHRA, starting on the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment.
  • You will accrue paid time off, in the form of sick hours and vacation hours, which you can use for vacations, personal time, or illness. You will begin accruing on your first day of employment, however, you may not use your PTO until after 90 days of employment. Our PTO policy is designed to provide flexibility and promote a healthy work-life balance. Refer to HR for sick hours accrual caps. Vacation hours are capped at 80 hours per year.
  • You will have the opportunity to participate in our 401k retirement savings plan. This plan is a valuable tool for your long-term financial security and retirement planning. Tower Mobility does not match 401k at this time.

Training and Development Opportunities:

Tower Mobility believes in continuous learning and development of its employees. To encourage this ongoing learning, employees are reimbursed for learning platform subscriptions. A few examples of such subscriptions are Udemy, Skillshare. Other paid courses may be reimbursed upon approval from HR.

In addition to the duties listed above, employees are required to: adhere to Tower Mobility's policies and procedures; work in a safe manner; perform duties as workload necessitates; maintain a positive and cooperative attitude; communicate regularly with your supervisor about work issues; demonstrate efficient time management; demonstrate regular and reliable attendance and punctuality; meet applicable productivity standards; and complete other duties as assigned by Tower Mobility from time to time.

Employees must have reliable transportation to and from the workplace.
