- Managing crises effectively through de-escalation techniques, restraints, and patient seclusion when necessary
- Documenting the nursing process accurately
- Collaborating with physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Utilizing the nursing process, the Emergency Department RN is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This role involves coordinating care by working closely with an interdisciplinary team, patients, and their families.
Effective communication is essential, particularly in conveying the patient's clinical status and responding promptly to any changes in condition or treatment response.
The daily responsibilities may include a variety of tasks such as patient assessments, IV administration, EKG monitoring, medication administration, and employing skills for managing combative patients. It is essential for ER RNs to hold either CEN or ATCN certification.
Qualifications:
- Valid RN License in Pennsylvania
- ACLS and PALS certifications are preferred
AND
- Minimum of 6 months of professional nursing experience
AND
- Required current experience in the Emergency Department
OR
- At least 2 years of recent acute care experience as a Paramedic
