Job Summary

HIAS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager, GBV, Child Safety and Wellness to support the organization's efforts in preventing and responding to gender-based violence (GBV) and promoting child safety and wellness in the United States. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GBV prevention and response, child safety and protection, and holistic services, with experience in implementing programs and services for vulnerable populations, including refugees and immigrants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Senior Program Manager, MHPSS & Holistic Services, and other HIAS staff to coordinate the implementation of MHPSS, WE, GBV, LGBTQIA+, and youth-focused social integration programs.
  • Work closely with HIAS' U.S. partner agencies, technical leads, and implementing staff to ensure that HIAS is aware of and prioritizing local needs.
  • Provide programmatic support related to GBV prevention and promotion, child safety and wellness, and family strengthening supports to HIAS affiliates and external partners.
  • Review and share program-specific tools and resources, and work with the Technical Team and others in a learning collaborative to contextualize and adapt global best practices for U.S. application.
  • Support affiliate relationships and provide oversight, capacity training, and technical assistance to implementing sites related to GBV, child protection and welfare, displaced youth, and LGBTQIA+ populations.
  • Ensure quality data collection, offer training, and provide technical guidance, capacity building, and ongoing support as needed related to program evaluation.
  • Develop and improve upon U.S.-focused program documents (standards, guidelines, and program implementation tools) to strengthen HIAS' GBV, LGBTQIA+, and youth-focused programs geared towards building affiliates' capacity and quality of services.
  • Provide thought leadership to support the advancement of holistic services and integration of GBV, LGBTQIA+, and child welfare and youth intervention programs across the HIAS network, contributing to strategy, grant proposals, and program expansion.
  • Review and develop program-specific tools and resources, and coordinate efforts with HIAS' MHPSS, GBV, and Child Protection Technical Team, contextualizing and adapting global and country-specific materials for U.S. application and purpose.
  • Conduct desk research and implement programming for U.S. affiliates with a focus on vulnerable populations (GBV, LGBTQIA+, youth services).
  • Liaise with affiliate staff and provide consistent resource development and capacity assistance as needed.
Requirements
  • MSW or related graduate degree required.
  • 4-6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Adult education and group facilitation skills.
  • Lived experience as a refugee or immigrant will bring a valuable perspective.
  • Demonstrated experience applying IASC gender-based violence guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to train staff and implement with partners on gender and GBV, including excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Collaborative, flexible team player with the ability to think critically about solutions to gaps in economic inclusion programming.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, including the ability to regularly communicate with, motivate, and support field-based staff, as well as effectively communicate key program achievements and operational challenges.
  • Travel, to include travel to insecure operating environments, may be required.
