Executive Chef Job Description

Job Summary:

The Executive Chef is responsible for overseeing all culinary operations, including menu development, inventory management, and staff supervision. This role requires a strong leader who can drive innovation, ensure quality, and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement menus that meet customer expectations and drive revenue growth
  • Manage inventory and supplies to minimize waste and optimize costs
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with the Food and Beverage Director to achieve business objectives

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in restaurant kitchen management
  • 1+ year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Culinary education degree preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Executive Chef experience
  • Prior kitchen experience in hotel/resort industry
  • Understanding of sanitation-related issues and knowledge of precautions necessary to ensure a clean food preparation environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Able to bend, stretch, and twist
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
