About the Position:

The State of Kansas is seeking a qualified Mental Health Developmental Disability Technician (MHDDT) to provide direct support and care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As an MHDDT, you will be responsible for providing frequent positive interactions, assisting and promoting target skills, planning and ensuring community inclusion, serving as a positive role model, and utilizing task partnering and incidental teaching when assisting with daily living activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Assist and promote target skills, such as basic household chores, hygiene, grooming, dressing, cooking, eating, working, shopping, laundry, and learning and recreation activities
  • Plan and ensure community inclusion, serving as a positive role model
  • Utilize task partnering and incidental teaching when assisting with daily living activities
  • Meet physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 30 pounds repeatedly throughout a shift and standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, and twisting for long periods of time

  • GED or High School Diploma preferred
  • CMA License required

Benefits:

  • Hourly pay rate of $20.13 per hour, plus a $0.50 shift differential for hours worked outside of 7a-2p
  • Unclassified, part-time position with varied shifts
  • Non-benefits eligible
