Job Summary:
The Director of Nursing is a key leadership position at Hospice Savannah Inc, responsible for providing clinical leadership and direction to the nursing department. This role requires a strong background in nursing, leadership, and management, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership and direction to the nursing department, including developing and implementing policies and procedures.
- Supervise and manage nursing staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating employees.
- Develop and manage budgets for the nursing department, including forecasting and managing expenses.
- Collaborate with other departments, including administration, finance, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless delivery of patient care.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, OSHA, and state and federal laws.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and develop strategies to improve patient outcomes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote Hospice Savannah Inc's mission and values.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field.
- Master's degree in nursing or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of senior-level management experience in a healthcare setting.
- At least 3 years of experience in hospice care.
- Proven track record of successful clinical and business management of health service organizations.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Computer proficiency in healthcare management software.
- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in hospice and palliative care.
- Current, unencumbered Georgia RN license.
Work Environment:
This position works a general schedule of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with frequent requests to work additional days/hours as needed for the successful completion of assigned tasks. The role will involve both office and fieldwork, attending offsite meetings and educational opportunities, and may include site visits. On-call responsibilities may be required for clinical/administrative matters.
