Healthcare Unit Clerk

This position provides essential clerical support to the facility nursing team, ensuring the smooth operation of medical supplies and services.
Responsibilities- Maintain accurate inventory of medical supplies, ordering with established par levels set by the Director of Nursing.
- Conduct regular inventory checks as requested by the Administrator or Regional Vice President.
- Track medical supplies using designated electronic software or computer systems.
- Ensure the supply area remains clean and organized.
- Notify the Director of Nursing and/or Administrator of concerns related to supply levels or quality.
- Coordinate and schedule physical transportation appointments and documents as directed by the Unit Coordinator.
- Monitor lab schedules and report as requested by the Unit Coordinator.
- Complete unit filing and respond to call bells, informing staff to respond.
- Answer unit telephones and forward calls/messages as directed by the Unit Coordinator.
- Prepare MD appointment packets for external medical appointments.
- Complete forms as requested and perform monthly reports as required/requested.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Unit Coordinator, Director of Nursing, or Administrator.
- Maintain HIPAA privacy, security, and confidentiality.
- Maintain resident rights.
- Excellent communication skills, coordinating activities with other departments to ensure residents feel safe and empowered.
- Strive for excellence, performing duties with measured accuracy and timeliness, and exhibiting a commitment to strive for excellence.
- Follow all established policies and procedures.
- Attend and complete all required in-services and annual training requirements.
- Maintain Corporate Compliance standards.
- Problem solver, identifying actual/potential problems and creating an action plan for resolution and measuring outcomes to determine course of action.
- Display excellent customer service, assisting and cooperating with other personnel and interdisciplinary teams, exhibiting helpfulness and support to all team members.
- Ability to lead a team and delegate tasks professionally, bringing concerns promptly to Supervisor or designee, and assisting in welcoming and integrating new staff into facilities.
Minimum High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred Associates degree. Minimum 6 months experience working in a customer service position. Preferred 1 year of experience working in a customer service position.
