Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

Pet Supplies Plus is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing support and guidance to our employees, management team, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, interview, and hire qualified candidates for open positions, collaborating with departmental managers to understand required skills and competencies.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, team members, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintain physical and digital files for team members' HR documents.
  • Participate in new hire orientation and facilitate team member engagement programs.
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resources programs.
  • Attend and participate in team member disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience required.
  • At least two years of human resource experience required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Knowledge of UKG Pro and Kronos, preferred.
