Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with program staff to design and implement recreational activities for men residing in our homeless shelter.
  • Create a positive and inclusive group environment that promotes social skills and emotional well-being.
  • Develop and lead age-appropriate programs and activities that cater to the diverse needs of our clients.
  • Document participation and outcomes, analyze results, and provide recommendations for program improvement.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain a safe and clean recreational space that meets the needs of our clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of our programs.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children and young adults is essential.
  • Experience working with low-income populations is highly desirable.
  • Must possess a strong passion for working with youth who may face academic and social challenges.
  • Upbeat and engaging personality is a must.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • A valid New York State Driver's License is required.
  • Ability to pass a child abuse screening and criminal background check.
