Pediatric Infectious Diseases Physician Opportunity

About the Position
The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a PRN Pediatric Infectious Diseases Physician to contribute to the division's program success. This individual will provide clinical coverage within a pediatric medical center that has experienced significant growth.
Responsibilities
- Teaching: The faculty member will have teaching responsibilities, providing guidance and mentorship to medical students, residents, chief residents, and fellows when applicable.
- Research: Research aspirations are encouraged but not required; support for these activities will depend upon prior accomplishments and potential.
- Service: The faculty member will serve on departmental or School of Medicine level committees when appropriate, engaging in professional activities such as journal review, conference presentations, etc.
- Clinical: Inpatient consultation for children with suspected infections, phone consultation for physicians and other pediatric medical professionals, and consultation on epidemiologic issues in the healthcare setting and community.
Required Qualifications
- Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Infectious Diseases
- Experience with clinical care of patients
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an academic medical center
- Demonstrated excellent teaching skills
Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position is commensurate with experience, estimated to be between $250,000 and $350,000 per year, depending on qualifications and location. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
