Position Overview:

The role of a Senior Functional Consultant for SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Support is pivotal in ensuring the effective operation and enhancement of SAP IBP systems. This position entails providing expert assistance, resolving issues, and optimizing system performance to support business processes efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:


• User Assistance & Issue Resolution:

o Serve as the main contact for users facing challenges with SAP IBP and associated business processes.

o Identify and rectify functional discrepancies, errors, and system failures.

o Deliver prompt and effective solutions to minimize interruptions in business operations.


• System Oversight & Upkeep:

o Oversee system performance and conduct regular assessments to ensure reliability and stability.

o Execute routine maintenance activities, including system updates and patches, to maintain the SAP IBP environment.

o Supervise process chains and carry out validation procedures.

o Schedule, monitor, and troubleshoot planning jobs.

o Familiarity with ECC master data, including material master, bills of materials, routings, production versions, and MRP areas is essential.

o Manage and resolve CIF queue issues and perform reconciliation tasks.

o Knowledge of IBP RTO master data, such as products, locations, resources, PPM, and PDS is required.

o Understand IBP version management and perform administrative tasks like initialization and consistency checks.

o Conduct master data validation procedures and collaborate with business teams to update missing information.

o Document weekly planning cycle issues and coordinate with client teams for resolution.

o Familiarity with IBP administrative functions is beneficial.


• Configuration & Enhancement:

o Maintain and support SAP IBP configurations, covering demand planning, supply planning, inventory optimization, and sales & operations planning.

o Analyze system performance to identify improvement opportunities and implement enhancements for process optimization.


• Documentation & Training:

o Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to SAP IBP configurations, processes, and troubleshooting methods.

o Provide training and guidance to end-users, ensuring they comprehend system functionalities and best practices.


• Issue Tracking & Reporting:

o Document and track issues and their resolutions utilizing ticketing systems like ServiceNow and JIRA.

o Prepare and present regular reports detailing system performance, issue resolution, and user feedback.


• Collaboration & Coordination:

o Collaborate closely with technical teams, business users, and internal IT departments to address complex issues and implement solutions.

o If necessary, coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure support activities align with business goals.


• Continuous Improvement:

o Stay informed about the latest SAP IBP features, updates, and industry trends.

o Recommend and implement system enhancements and process improvements based on user feedback and system performance evaluations.


• Testing & Quality Assurance:

o Develop and execute testing plans to ensure the quality and functionality of SAP IBP solutions.

o Identify and resolve issues during testing and post-implementation phases.


• Training & Support:

o Provide training and support to end-users regarding SAP IBP functionalities and best practices.

o Create and maintain documentation related to SAP IBP processes and configurations.


• Qualifications:

o A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

o Relevant SAP certification(s) in IBP or related SAP modules is preferred.


• Experience:

o 5-7 years of experience as an SAP IBP Functional Consultant in both support and project roles. Knowledge of APO is an added advantage.

o Proven experience in supporting and troubleshooting SAP IBP modules such as Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and Inventory Optimization.

Technical Skills:

o Strong understanding of SAP IBP functionalities and business processes related to supply chain management.

o Excellent problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve complex functional issues.

o Effective communication skills for interaction with both technical teams and business users.

o Proficiency in creating and maintaining documentation and training materials.


• Additional Attributes:

o Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

o Willingness to participate in on-call support or extended hours as necessary.

o Knowledge of data integration and interface management with other systems.
