The Department of Forestry & Fire Protection is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Department Battalion Chief to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of our fire department, ensuring the safety of our personnel and the public, and responding to emergency situations.
Responsibilities:- Oversee the daily operations of the fire department, including fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve fire safety and prevention in our community.
- Collaborate with other emergency services agencies to ensure a coordinated response to emergencies.
- Provide leadership and guidance to our fire department personnel, including training and development programs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to fire safety and emergency services.
The incumbent will be required to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, responding to emergency situations and making quick decisions to ensure the safety of others. The position may require working long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Special Requirements:- The position requires medical clearance prior to being hired.
- The incumbent must be able to wear respiratory protection equipment, including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
- The position requires a valid driver's license of the appropriate class issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
