Job Summary

The University of New Mexico is seeking a highly skilled Comprehensive Ophthalmologist to join our team in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. This is an open rank position, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a rapidly growing department within a renowned academic institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a thriving clinical practice within the UNM Hospital Eye Clinic
  • Share responsibilities for on-call duties
  • Participate in the education of medical students and residents
  • Contribute to the growth and success of the department
Requirements
  • Completion of an Ophthalmology Residency Program
  • Board certified/eligible in Ophthalmology
  • Eligible for licensure in New Mexico
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in clinical education
  • Experience in clinical research
  • Experience with comprehensive ophthalmology and ophthalmic procedures commonly performed by comprehensive ophthalmologists
  • Experience with basic medical retina and pediatric ophthalmology care
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, and to serving a broadly diverse community
