JOB SUMMARY:
The Lead Child Care Coordinator is responsible for fostering a secure, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children and young adults at AlphaPlex Inc. This role involves close collaboration with the Center Manager and Program Director, overseeing the Childcare Staff during designated shifts. The position operates under the direct supervision of the Program Directors or their designee.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in executing established objectives and treatment plans in daily programming, tailored to each participant's individual needs.
- Support visitor and volunteer oversight as delegated.
- Maintain essential documentation, including medication logs and incident reports, and communicate any facility needs in the staff communication log.
- Ensure the Center's overall appearance meets health and safety standards, addressing any concerns with Management Staff.
- Demonstrate thorough understanding and adherence to agency incident reporting policies and procedures.
- Engage with clients in the community as required by program needs and training.
- Provide direct care, including physical assistance to program participants, which may involve caring for medically fragile individuals.
- Supervise and guide direct care staff as assigned, offering direction, encouragement, and modeling appropriate behaviors.
- Adhere to policies and procedures for the care of participants, as established by the Center and relevant regulatory bodies, including safety plans and emergency protocols.
- Effectively communicate with parents and guardians regarding participant progress and needs.
- Participate in staff meetings and complete all mandatory training, including medication administration training.
- Meet training requirements as set by the Program Directors.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the Center's standards for safety and cleanliness are upheld.
- Provide transportation for children using company vehicles or personal vehicles as needed.
- Be willing to assist with facility management tasks, recreational activities, and other areas to enhance service delivery to program participants.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Early Childhood Education, or a related field, along with Early Teacher Qualifications or Level 3 early teacher qualifications.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience providing direct care to children, including experience with children with special needs.
- Ability to lift and transfer up to 50 lbs and remain standing for the majority of the shift.
- Availability to work a minimum of 4 weekend days each month, with potential evening and overnight shifts as needed.
- Preferred experience in supervising staff for at least one year.
- Valid Driver's License, current vehicle insurance, and an acceptable driving record according to company standards.
