The Charge Nurse at Gastro Care Partners plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care in our GI lab and surgical services. This individual will be responsible for coordinating and guiding the work activities of the RN staff, monitoring work schedules, and maintaining department scheduling guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a GI lab, surgery center, or critical care setting. They will be proficient in MS Excel, electronic health systems, and databases such as EPIC, and have knowledge of GCP, federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA policies and procedures.

The Charge Nurse will be responsible for:

  • Providing quality nursing care before, during, and immediately after procedures
  • Fostering continuity and quality of care with the best interest and well-being of patients and their families in mind
  • Recognizing and acting on emergency care needs in the event of respiratory and/or cardiac occurrences
  • Reporting emergencies, unusual occurrences, and/or problems to the Operations Manager, or Lead RN
  • Assisting the Operations Manager in leading day-to-day operations and coordination of patient care
  • Establishing appropriate RN goals and strategies for meeting effective patient care
  • Working in conjunction with the Operations Manager to improve patient, provider, and staff satisfaction
  • Analyzing clinical practice and identifying opportunities to increase quality, safety, effectiveness, and efficiency
  • Identifying clinical indicators to measure, evaluate, and improve care
  • Assisting the Operations Manager in the recruitment, retention, and performance of RN staff
  • Monitoring RN license and certification expiration dates
  • Working with the Operations Manager to develop and implement policies and procedures
