Job Summary

As a Certified Medical Assistant at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and administrative support to our healthcare team. This dynamic role requires a strong foundation in medical assisting principles, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical, technical, and administrative duties as directed by the physician and within the scope of training and certification.
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment, obtaining and recording vital signs, medications, and allergies.
  • Assist physicians with examinations, tests, procedures, and office-based surgery, applying splints, casts, and dressings as needed.
  • Prepare and administer medications and immunizations as ordered by the physician, demonstrating competency and passing medication administration tests.
  • Document patient data and care in the medical record, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Complete medical insurance and other related forms for physician review, communicating with patients, referral sources, and payors as needed.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited medical assistant program is preferred.
  • No experience required.
  • Required certifications include CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), CCMA (NHA), NCMA (NCCT), RMA (ARMA), NRCMA (NAHP), or RMA (AAMP).
Work Environment

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring strong communication and teamwork skills.
