The City of Mebane is seeking a highly experienced municipal government executive to serve as its next City Manager. This is a unique opportunity to lead a team of 167 hard-working full-time equivalent staff and drive strategic growth and development in a thriving community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans to drive growth and development in the City of Mebane
  • Oversee the management of the City's budget and financial resources to ensure effective and efficient use of funds
  • Collaborate with the City Council and other stakeholders to build strong relationships and drive decision-making
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient delivery of City services
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the City's management team to ensure effective and efficient management of City operations
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in municipal government management at the Assistant City Manager level or City Manager in an equivalent-sized local government organization
  • Master's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
  • ICMA credentialing or equivalent experience
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and policy development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
