Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and families on health needs, healthcare activities, and medication effects.
  • Utilize knowledge and expertise to meet the specific clinical needs of oncology and infusion patients.
  • Perform facility acuity coding and document pertinent clinical information in patient medical records.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required. BSN preferred. Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of North Carolina required. Oncology experience preferred. Proficiency in IV therapy, bone marrow, spinals, thoracenteses, paracenteses, and phlebotomy preferred. Oncology certification preferred. BLS required per policy guidelines.

Work Environment

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must speak English fluently and in understandable terms. Must possess an intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterity. Must have the ability to concentrate and respond quickly to changes in patient and/or clinic conditions.
