Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Early Childhood Program Manager to oversee the daily operations of our preschool program within the Piper School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the program's safety, supportiveness, and fun environment, while creating and maintaining positive relationships with families and school administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the program's daily operations are conducted in a safe and purposeful manner, adhering to licensing and YMCA guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with prospects, families, associates, school staff, district representatives, and state licensing representatives.
  • Manage associate-to-child ratios, maintain accurate attendance records, and ensure the safe release of children to authorized individuals.
  • Implement and oversee observational tools, training, and mentoring new leads on their use.
  • Communicate important program issues and information to supervisors, complete state licensing, financial, and Y reports in a timely manner, and conduct parent/teacher conferences.
  • Attend mandatory associate in-service and training events, maintain training requirements for licensing, and educate staff on developmental stages and classroom structure.
  • Provide tours to prospective families, organize fundraising site goals, and maintain financial records.
Requirements
  • Qualifications to obtain a Program Director approval in the state of Kansas.
  • Minimum of three years' experience working in a group setting.
  • Experience in understanding and applying the principles of development and programming for both school-age and early learning.
  • Demonstrated experience in relationship building and leadership skills, preferably in working with families, building administrators.
  • Knowledge of state licensing standards and commitment to adhere to said standards.
  • Sensitivity to clientele and associates representing a variety of family, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Commitment and desire to provide quality school age and early learning programming at all levels.
