Respiratory Therapist

The Registered Respiratory Therapist plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will work collaboratively with nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional respiratory care to patients of all ages.

• Implement physician-directed respiratory care interventions for individual or group patients
• Assess and treat patients with respiratory conditions, including neonates, adults, and geriatric patients
• Work in various clinical and ambulatory settings, including NICU and PICU
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Provide education and support to patients and families on respiratory care and disease management

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy required
• Active RRT certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) and state licensure required within 6 months of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Experience in NICU and PICU settings preferred
