Role Summary

Blue Origin is seeking a highly skilled Fluid/Mechanical Engineer II to join our Test & Flight Operations team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining ground systems, test, and launch facilities across multiple locations.

This role requires a strong background in mechanical engineering, with expertise in fluid systems, piping, and structural analysis. You will work closely with a small, passionate team of experts to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our business units.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing launch pad, test stand, and other facility piping systems supporting cryogenic and gaseous pneumatic systems
  • Performing fluid and structural analysis of new or modified designs
  • Selecting components and collaborating on system safety and process hazards analysis
  • Guiding the creation of models and drawings of designs
  • Performing system and component level analyses and documenting results
  • Drafting and reviewing specifications and statements of work
  • Drafting and reviewing operational procedures
  • Coordinating with suppliers on costs, schedule, and technical design requirements
  • Overseeing fabrication, installation, and commissioning of new or modified fluid systems
  • Providing input on cost, schedule, and technical requirements to internal customers

Requirements include a four-year aerospace or mechanical engineering degree, 1+ years of experience in a similar role, and expertise in design and analysis of piping/tubing systems. Experience with solid modeling, design lifecycle documentation, and configuration control is also highly desirable.
